Javier Royo
Creative Director and Founder

Founder of Chispum Studio. Graduate in Graphic Design from the University of Fine Arts UPV-EHU and doctorate in Icon Design for User Interface. He also is the creator of the decorative vinyl brand Chispum (www.chispum.com), in which he collaborates as author. His designs and illustrations are distributed in Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Latin America. He has been recognized with several awards, and many internationally renowned awards such as the Illustration World Awards or the American Illustration have selected his work in Environmental Graphics. He contributes in publications such as El País, El Semanal, Interviú, Revista Visual, and has been a member of the editorial team of the satirical magazine “El Virus Mutante” along with Forges, Gallego y Rey, El Roto, Peridis or Pablo Carbonell among others. Founder, editor, and author of El Estafador (www.elestafador.com), the most well-known online weekly publication of graphic humour in Spanish, and most read around the world, with contributors from all Spanish America.

He also is the author of several comic books of La Cebolla Asesina, his most known character. In 2015 he published “Martín Berasategui y David de Jorge”, a comic that encompasses recipes and an illustrated biography of these great chefs. For this book he received the Junceda Award of illustration, which is conferred by the Professional Association of Illustrators of Catalunya. In 2017 came out “La escuela”, a book that merges two key aspects for Javier: education and corporate social responsibility. Javier is also the patron of the Foundawtion Foundation and Chispum studio actively collaborates with an education program in Africa: which provides both infrastructures and educational programs. As a lecturer, he taught at Istituto Europeo de Design (Madrid and Barcelona), and currently teaches in the master’s degree in illustration of IDEP in Barcelona, and in the diploma in Graphic Design of LCI. He also has conducted workshops in different places, such as Mexico, Japan, Cuba or Colombia, among others.

Idoia García de Cortázar
Head of Brand Strategy and Art Director

Idoia brings strategic vision to projects, leading their development, and driving the operational side of strategy. Graduate in Contemporary Visual Communication from the UPV-EHU University and master’s in Social Role of Design (Ramon Llull University). She has worked in many Brand Management projects, handling brands in a strategic and creative manner to provide them with market value and competitive advantage. She is in charge of coordinating the several teams of Chispum Studio: from the design team to the team of production and implementation.

Idoia has been the Director of the Contemporary Visual Communication Department at ESDI -Universitat Ramon Llull and currently is a member of the faculty of IED – lecturing different subjects in the diplomas of Visual Communication and Design and Management departments.

Ioana Crasovan
Strategic Business Consultant

As strategic consultant, Ioana transforms opportunities in value (both for users and brands). Graduate in Business Design, she specializes in User Experience and Design Thinking. Ioana applies Design Thinking methodologies to provide creative solutions and help grow brands and companies.

She has won several awards in the fields of Management for Creative Industries, and Sustainability and Circular Economy.

Xavier Femenia
Production Manager

Xavier is the head of the Production Department and coordinates the assembly teams. He has participated in several projects of ambient graphics and wayfinding, and his wide experience is essential for projects execution.
